Budgets
You say how much you want to spend on food, transport or whatever else, and Not Pato counts down on its own with every transaction that lands. No spreadsheets, no adding up in your head, no finding out at the end of the month.

One ring per category
Each category has its ring and its color: green while you are doing fine, amber from 80% on, red once you go over. Tap into one and you get the full detail, with the transactions that ate it up.

The warning
The warning does not wait for the end of the month: it fires the moment the transaction that crosses the threshold lands, which is while you can still decide something. It comes at most twice per period, at 80% and at 100%, and does not repeat.

On the monthly chart
On the home chart each bar is what you have spent and the dotted line is your budget. If you are under, the dotted line sits above as the limit you did not reach. If you went over, the bar spills past it and you see it without reading a single number.

The period
If your paycheck lands on the 28th, your month starts on the 28th. The budget resets there, along with the rest of the app: the monthly balance, the fixed expenses and the stats all use the same period, so the numbers always talk about the same stretch of time.

Your month
Aug 28 · Sep 27
Your paycheck lands on the 28th, so your month starts on the 28th. That is when the budget resets, not on the 1st.
It counts when you spend
What you pay by credit card comes off on the day of the purchase, not the day you pay the card. Paying the card does not come off anything again.
Going over blocks nothing
The ring turns red and the warning arrives, but spending keeps coming in as usual. It is a reference for deciding, not a lock.
What you spend abroad too
A purchase in another currency comes in converted to yours at that day's rate, so the budget matches what the bank charged you.
A cap on the category where your money goes is enough to feel the difference. Not Pato carries the rest.
